Briley Anaïas Jones
FULL NAME: Briley Anaïas Jones
NICKNAME: B.J.
AGE: 16
GRADE: junior
GENDER: female
HEIGHT: 5'4"
WEIGHT:115
SEXUALITY: straight
STATUS: single
CLIQUE: prep
EYES: green
HAIR: blonde
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:a birth mark on the outer edge of her right hand.
PLAY BY: hayden panettiere
LIKES: animals, nice clothes/stuff, gymnastics, musicals, shopping, carrots, cherries
DISLIKES: sex, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and violence (all the fun stuff)
STRENGTHS: manipulating, cheerleading
WEAKNESSES: fear of sex and rape, insecure
PERSONALITY: Unfortunately experience has taught Briley that having money and nice things is directly related to a person's worth, thus, her self esteem is connected to her material posessions and new living situation as a rich cheerleader instead of poor trailer trash. She's not really a genuine snob, but she knows who she shouldn't be seen with in order to protect her new status. She isn't cruel and tends to give people the benefit of the doubt rather than jump to a negative conclusion, however deciding what to think of other people often brings out her insecurity about herself. When it comes to boys, she comes across as "hard to get" but actually has legit fear of sex (instilled in her by her father's stories about how excruciatingly agonizing the act of sex is for a female, using words like "ripping," "tearing," blood and pain.) So when someone flirts with her she comes off as either playful or aloof depending on the guy. Should the flirting turn sexual, she will either physically abandon the situation or verbally shut him down. Needless to say, she's a bit of a prude. She's good at cheerleading and gymnastics, has always wanted to try ballet and likes swimming. She's outgoing to a point, but has a fear of rejection that makes her careful around people. She likes horseback riding, looks up to the queen bee of preps and while she doesn't look down on those who aren't as rich as she is, she's not sorry for them either. She's just glad she isn't one of them anymore.
HISTORY Briley is the story of social rags to riches. She lived with her parents in a trailer park. Her dad had very little money and came from a background where having a lot of money and nice things wasn't really important, as his family had always been lower middle class. Her mom however, was from a life of privilege; the story goes that her mom gave up her glamorous life to marry her dad, trading money for love like a fairy tale. However it was short lived, her mother divorced her father and moved to New York when she was four years old. Neither parent will admit the real reason why, but Briley thinks her mom got sick of living in such a poor financial situation and left. She spoke to her mother often and started taking gymnastics classes courtesy of checks sent by her mom. When she started high school, she wasn't particularly unhappy with her life, but she was crushed when she tried out for cheerleading and was denied not because she didn't have skill, but because she simply wasn't wanted. She quickly learned that having nothing, meant she was nothing. Wearing dollar store makeup and thrift store clothes, her eager friendliness became careful shyness. She was alone, the nerds tried to befriend her, but she simply didn't share their interests. Alone and a social outcast, she became depressed.
Her father noticed this and knew something had to be done, when she turned 16 one summer, he surprised her. He had talked it over with her mom, and decided that she could go live with her in New York and attend Five Lions. She was ecstatic! As soon as she got off the plane s she ditched all her cheap, crappy material belongings and let her mom, who had remarried a wealthy politician spoil her. Soon, everything she owned was from the mall, or some fancy designer, and not from Good will, Wal-Mart or a dollar store. Expensive makeup, clothes, even soap. The best part of this lifestyle makeover was getting to switch schools. No one would know her, she could start over. Getting on the cheerleading squad was her first triumph, with her new life came a new status. She was no longer a nobody with nothing, she was Briley Anaïas Jones, someone who actually mattered.
